“Alive” is the A-Side of our limited 7″ pressing for Nicky Blitz. The song was written and produced entirely by the artist which is appropriate given the specifically intimate lyrical content and overall au fait vibe. It’s ripe with celebratory meditations on family and friendship. It’s a hodgepodge of live instrumentation with studio wizardry that lies somewhere between Talking Heads and Kanye West which lends itself well to the spins the song has already received from the always eclectic Liza Richardson on KCRW. The song is sincerely nostalgic – carefully avoiding cliché while encouraging bliss.
